Hi there! My name is Ant! I know, it's a funny name for a dog! But I’m thinking, maybe with a funny name like Ant, I will stick out in your mind and you will remember me! Oh, I sure hope so!

I’m a 9-year-old pit bull guy who has the shiniest black coat, if I do say so myself. I haven’t shared my past with my human friends (because we dogs like to live in the present, not the past!) but my humans friends think maybe I haven’t had the best life before being rescued. My teeth are kind of worn, so they think I mostly lived confined or even outside and tried to get free from whatever restriction. But I’m free from all of that now, I’m only looking ahead, and I am so VERY ready for my new beginning. I thought I had found a new beginning, but my adoptive family moved and didn’t take me with them. That made me sad. I don’t want to be sad again so I really am looking for a home that means forever.

I’m working on learning things like “sit”, “stay,” and “lay down” but I already know how to do my business outside! What a bonus, right? And I even come with my own kennel. Have kennel, will travel! How many dogs come with that? And, I’m usually a quiet guy in my kennel.

But to be honest, what I absolutely love most in the world is spending time with my humans. I seem to like all the nice humans I’ve ever met, too. What I want more than anything is to be by my human’s side, maybe follow them around, and stick close. So it’s perfectly fine with me if you’re a homebody! I’m a homebody, too!

Truth be told, my eyesight isn’t what it used to be. I mean, a lot of you can probably relate, right? So my perfect home would be with a patient person/family who will help me feel secure with not being able to see very well. Because my eyesight isn’t great, a home without small kids would be best for me. The thing is, I really like to give kisses, but sometimes my depth perception isn’t what it used to be and I misjudge how close the person is when I’m coming in for a kiss! I mean no harm, and I like kids, but I sure don’t want to accidentally scare a young kid or bump a face!

But all that being said, please don’t let my age or eyesight fool you! I still have a pep in my step! I am FULL of life and personality, and I even hop around like a bunny! Maybe I should have been named after a bunny, not an ant?
