Meet Bella, a three-year-old black Labrador mix who loves her people with her whole heart. She's a solid and strong 73-pound gal with a big heart and some very convincing puppy dog eyes. She is house trained, kennel trained, and is quickly learning basic commands such as sit and lay down. She is working on leash training and improving on commands like come, wait, leave it, no jump and drop it. She absolutely loves toys, especially balls, learned how to play trade fetch (her favorite game) and selects only from her toy basket for her power chewing needs. Her favorite toys that have held up to her chewing are Chuckit Ultra Balls, Kongs, squeaky toys such as a Tuffy Lobster and Tuffy starfish, durable Nylabones and she enjoys eating from fun feeder food puzzles. When it's chill time this girl wants to be by your side with a paw, backside or her head resting on you. She melts into a good long ear rub, head rub, pets and body rubs.
Bella is fearful of new things but quickly learning that the world isn't so scary. The Pet Connection is helping Bella with her fears and will continue helping after she’s adopted. Her amazing foster family is slowly introducing her to new things, new stimuli, and new adventures. She's eager to go on car rides but still a bit stressed. Bella has taken some time to adjust to her new environment, but her love and manners continue to emerge each day.
Bella absolutely loves kids but forgets how strong she is, and how to gently play and not jump when excited, so would be best in a home with older kids. Her current educational project is learning (with lots of positive reinforcement) that cats do not enjoy being chased. She's working on proper dog approach and play so it's possible she may join a family with larger dogs if given time to adjust.
