Hi there, I’m Monty! I’m a stunning, 3-year-old, medium-size boy, with a beautiful smile. I’m so smart and playful and always ready for fun. I love to keep busy, so give me a job to do, and watch me go! I definitely have a blue heeler personality! I’m a happy boy and I make the most out of whatever situation I find myself in, but the one thing that constantly eludes me is a forever home and family to call my own.
While in foster, I was very well behaved and I never chewed or got into things I shouldn’t. I didn’t have accidents and was good in my crate when no one was home. I loved playing fetch or other games and hanging out with the family. I’m not a snuggly or cuddly sort of dog, though. I like my space and I like to do things at my own pace. I loved going for walks, but I’m not a fan of car rides or noisy traffic. I prefer fresh air and space to run and room to explore.
The volunteers and trainers who are working with me love how smart and driven I am, in addition to being a big goofball and a really fun companion, especially when I splash around in the kiddie pool. I’m looking for an active adult home with dedicated people who will take the time to work with me. A big fenced yard sounds like heaven to me! If you have another dog, we will need an appropriate introduction before we can go home together. And I will need a home without cats that I would be tempted to chase. For the right family, which I have faith is out there, I will be a wonderful friend and constant companion.
Now I need someone to truly rescue me… to believe in me and help me navigate through life, even when it’s hard. I hope that person is you.
